Symltech Ltd was formed in 2003 to develop a software system for a specialist plant operating company.

The idea was to draw together expertise from the software industry and the operated plant industry to produce a system that would run on the new PDA/phone devices that were emerging.

The company was awarded innovation grant funding under the Welsh Development Agency's SMARTCymru scheme and received support from the University of Wales, Swansea's Spinout Programme.

Symltech has appointed ACL as the exclusive Glimpse distributor for Local Government.
ACL has been trading for nearly 30 years, and has become a specialist in providing software and services for Local Government and NHS. The company has developed software packages for local Government and can boast more than 80 Local Authority customers, from the Western Isles in Scotland to sites across England and Wales. Ceredigion Council Chooses Glimpse.
Symltech is pleased to announce that Ceredigion Council Highways Department after a successful pilot trial have chosen the Glimpse software to be their principle tracking and mobile control system for workers. The Glimpse Job allocation and control software, GPS monitoring, and Mobile working system via hand held PDAs is replacing various other Council systems and offers a cost effective and greatly improved solution for the Authority.

Symltech has been working with various new clients to extend the Glimpse product into the PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) market place resulting in a combined Glimpse product with inventory control, appliance monitoring and tracking through the hand held unit used.
